I Love Memphis has been a resource for what’s going on in Memphis since 2009- they showcase the music, food, arts, events, sports, people, culture, and everything else that makes Memphis its wonderful, weird self. Since 2018 we've expanded and refined their brand, creating illustrations and assets for everything from their Instagram stories to selfie-hot-spot murals. In 2021 we assisted with their new website launched with Miles Media and created an updated brand guide and assets, new illustrations to showcase the personality of the city, and a new 80+ foot long mural at the Renasant Convention Center, coming soon.
The I Love Memphis brand is a fun, swashy custom typeface incorporating the iconic Hernando Desoto bridge as a heart that can be pulled out to use as an icon. Sunny, bright colors of warm red, yellow, and teal reflect the energy of the city of Memphis. The main illustration is a simple line drawing of the city skyline and fluffy summer clouds that can be animated to show the FedEx Forum rocking and the Pyramid Bass Pro flag waving in the breeze.
It's a unique challenge to represent so many parts of Memphis in illustration form. We researched all of Memphis and the surrounding areas from Orange Mound and Soulsville to Millington and Lakeland to capture the personality of Memphis' many vibrant neighborhoods to include on their new website.
